Count Down to V-Day

OK, so I wanted a little project that I could do to spruce up my department at work.  Since Valentines Day is almost here I thought it was time to start decorating.  I'm not usually a big fan of this holiday, because i feel that it is just to sell cards and candy.  However, if you do it right it can be really fun.  This year i am doing a "handmade" valentines.  Anyhow, here is what i have done to my department.

We are not allowed to decorate to much since I work where we deal with the public, so my employer doesn't want us to go over the top.  I have found a couple tutorials online about crafts for Valentines Day. 

First I just found this old post from http://dozidesign.blogspot.com/2008/05/paper-flower-tutorial.html about these awesome paper roses.  I think they are so cute and flowers are a nice decoration that can't offend anyone right?  Here is a pic of here finished flowers from her blog

 

I really liked the way she used them on these branches, it looks beautiful and simple. 

I have decided that I am going to make a bunch of these to be strung up around the office.  I am also going to make some to be tossed on the counter and I am planning on mixing some "petals" in also.  I have to make these at home over the weekend so I will post pics of the department when its all nice and pretty.
